The two checks
Every product is checked on its own, not waved through because its brand passed once. Two things have to be on file before it's listed.
- An explicit authorised distributor statement for that brand, from the distributor's own listing. A general assurance that the stock is genuine doesn't count; it has to name the brand.
- A UK Responsible Person on record for the product, confirmed in writing. That's the role the Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013 make accountable for a product's safety file in this market.
Anything that fails either check doesn't get listed.
